The plot itself is fantastic, Jance is a wonderful author and, living in Tucson, I especially enjoyed all the references to real places here that she incorporates in her books. Also, interspersing tales from the Tohono O’odham was especially interesting to me as I am a docent at Tohono Chul Gardens (which is also listed in this book). Tohono Chul was established to share the nature, art and culture of the Sonoran Desert and I like to include stories from the Tohono O’odham in my tours. Jance has added to my repertoire!
