This is the companion book to the Chief Ouray story.However, this book stands alone as a great read too.If you're interested in life in the Colorado wild west from 1850 to 1900, you'll love this book.Covers a lot of things I hadn't read elsewhere.Also made me ill thinking about how wrong she was treated by "my ancestors".I rode to Dragon, UT on my dirt bike after reading this, just to see for myself what the land was like that was "given" to the Indians after they were removed from the Grand Valley.Wow... shockingly desolate!This book will get you thinking that's for sure, as well as get you smiling at times.
