We love the Elves series. A great break from all the cars, machines, and fighters. :-)Looks great, and arrived in perfect condition. It was a giftThis is one of the most crucial Elves sets that offer a lot of play value. Lego Elves is all about the dragons and dragon babies. Well, it might not be visible form the box and listing but this set includes the largest dragon in the range to date; the white queen dragon. Our children are lucky to have most of the Elves sets and are particularly fond of the dragons, so the queen dragon is a great addition. The castle tower is quite nice with a prison, bedroom and bastille on top. However its mechanical/magical door is a highlight. But there is also a green crystal button that moves stepping stones through lava. And of course there are several story/play possibilities regarding the rescue of chained dragon queen Elandra. The set includes a neat range of characters Emily Jones and Azari, Dusti the evil fox and a mouse. Like the other Elves sets there is a lot of detail. The colourful decoration is a bit darker less pink and lavender as this is an evil castle. It took our children 2 to 3 hourly sessions to complete the construction and assembly of this fairly large 833-piece set. And the dragon in particular required some assistance from my side. The instructions are very clear, as is always the case with Lego sets. I most say it’s a bit tedious to build a Lego dragon or mech as its gets boring to build 4 almost identical legs. However the completed queen dragon looks imposing and dwarfs the other ones ion the line. The children greatly enjoyed playing with the set afterward as the completed set looks great, and blends in well with their Elves village. And the great advantage is the everything is completely compatible with other Elves sets or any other Lego product. So to conclude; a great Elves set, and one that stands out given the colour scheme and theme. All comes in the expected great Lego-quality.Too bad that the Elves line seems to be discontinued, for now, and that sets are getting scarce through regular channels. With a little imagination the line could have been taken much further.Lovely set from LEGO, lovely use of colours in the small building that comes with the dragon. The highlight of the set is the dragon though, we have all of them now and many other LEGO dragons from Ninjago and other themes. But this one is spectacular, very solid construction and feels weighty. Beautiful details all over and has great articulation in the neck, head and wings. The only downside is the dragons limbs only rotate around the joint, they are on a technic rod. A ball joint would have been nicer, but I cant see how they would have kept it so solid feeling.Highly recommended if your a LEGO dragon fan or Elves fan.Daughter LOVES this set! 'Best dragon set' according to her, she found the dragon quite technical to build and needed help which is unusual for her.She loves the castle and the obstacles that are hidden in it.My only irk is that the brown bits on the saddle always fall off no matter how you put it together, aside that the dragon is very sturdy.Recommended esp if you get it at the right price!!!I had to send this by parcel post as it was too wide to go by royal mail to USA. It cost a lot and took nearly3 weeks missing her BIRTHDAY by a day. Otherwise the lego kit was well liked by my grandaughterVery happy with this. Daughter had the Lego Fire Dragon already but this kit is a significant step up in the aesthetics and feel. It holds together much better and is more substantial. Better partnering building thingy, too.
