This is a true burgundy color, love that! I can't tell you how many things claim to be burgundy but show up red.It's actually two different fabrics sewn together at the edges. One is smooth plush, the other nappy. You can grab each piece/side and pull it completely free of the other piece, they are only connected at the edges. This makes an extra step when making the bed because you have to ensure that both pieces are flat and smooth if you want the made bed smooth without lumps.Both sides snag with cat claws. I originally had this on top of my comforter so I could pull up as needed but it's so soft the cats were on it all day. By the end of the first day I saw three snags, couldn't believe it. Now it's under the comforter to keep it from the cats.It's super soft and snuggly. It is a "slippery" blanket...my comforter keeps wanting to slide right off of it.I'm in Florida and this is a nice weight for our winters.For the price, I'm happy. I wouldn't pay more unless both sides were sewn together in a few more spots to keep them from shifting on each other.
