After removing the bed from the box, I am so far unimpressed. This is supposed to be a platform bed, meaning it will easily hold a mattress without needing a box spring. I am very skeptical that this will do the job. I will update this after assembling and attempting to use this with my mattress.Edit: I had to make a temporary posture board to support my mattress. I suggest buying a box spring if you are going to buy this bed. Also, the hooks that attach the rails to the head and foot board are hard to get into place. They pull out easily, so I suggest hammering them into place and pulling on them to make sure they don't slip out.On a plus side, it recommended 2 people to put this together, but I managed just fine on my own.If this bed had been able to support a mattress alone, like it was supposed to, it would have gotten a higher rating.We love this bed! It is sturdy and lovely in the room. The lower foot rail gives it the impression of more space in the room.There was still moist paint or some sort of stain on the frame, so when we brought it into the room to assemble, it stained our carpet. Tried removing the stain but still left a mark. Also the bed was missing an important part, so we had to contact the manufacturer. The border molding design on the bed post is uneven and miscarved. For the price, it's not bad, but not good quality. Decent furniture for a guest room. Would probably give it an extra star if it wasn't for the staining of the carpet.Though made of solid wood for the most part, the headboard is a thin veneer and I worry about leaning against it. There is very poor support where the headboard connects to the frame. The slats have adjustable legs but the wood is too weak and keeps breaking. The slats have holes for the screws but no corresponding place on the base to mark where they join. A screw was missing so we had to go to the hardware store before we could put it together. The description said it is sturdy but it isn't. I loved the style which is why I bought it, but don't waste your money.Sturdy platform and easy to assemble. The low rating is due to the quality of the headboard... There are dents in the wood, places where the varnish isn't even, and many marks that won't buff off. It looks fine from a distance. I'm not glad I got rid of my old bed :(Not please with the quality of the materials. All of it is rather cheap and contains REALLY soft work. I would not recommend this for daily use. Had purchased it for Master and it will end out on the Bonus room as an extra.GREAT BED for a GREAT PRICE!We had ordered a California King Bed Frame for our daughter and before Christmas to have delivered just after Christmas. The previous order had been back ordered three times. Amazon customer care stepped in and gave a heavy discount to make things right with us and this was bed was in stock and available.We are very satisfied with our order and our interaction with amazon this is a terrific product.
